Youth Leadership Council

The Youth Leadership Council held an introductory meeting last week for those looking to get involved with WMCA. It's not too late to join! The deadline to submit an application is February 1st with the first official meeting kicking off at the end of February. If you are between the ages of 16-25 (or know someone that is) reach out to jamila@wisconsinmuslimcivicalliance.org for more information.

Candidate Endorsements for the Spring 2021 Elections

WMCA staff and board members are hard at work researching candidates for Spring 2021 elections (February 16th Primary and April 6th General).

We are proud to announce our first candidate: Dr. Maqsood Khan for Franklin Public School Board. Dr. Khan is a Muslim father of five, husband, activist, and practicing physician. He is running to ensure that every child in Franklin has the opportunity to succeed and teachers have adequate resources.

“My passion for the education system began with my beloved mother, a devoted educator who taught children and served as a principal for over 36 years. Inspired by her sincere devotion and hard work to the education field, I have decided to run for Franklin School Board.”

You can learn more about Dr. Khan and his campaign at www.khanforfranklinschools.com. Even if you don't live in his district, you can still show support by liking his Facebook page or volunteering your time to call voters. Email khanforfranklinschools@yahoo.com to get involved.
